Exercise will keep your body well “maintenanced” (yes “maintenanced” just like taking care of your car). Exercising will help your body stay healthy and strong while keeping your immune system intact. Your body cells receive oxygen through enhanced breathing in which your brain releases endorphins, causing you to feel good, happy and well-adjusted.  These endorphins supply you with a good mood and a positive outlook on life and give you a good disposition.  Keeping physically active is one of the most important elements of being healthy.

As important as exercising your body is, exercising your mind is just as important. You exercise your MIND by stimulating it…- How do you do this? You do this through reading, learning a new language, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, etc.  Studies have even shown that stimulating the brain delays the onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease later on in life. Make sure to always revitalize your brain by learning new things.  Having a healthy mind will give you a longer and  fuller life with more meaning and purpose. I would also highly recommend meditation. Meditation is great for relaxation and reflection and can be very therapeutic. Sometimes when we are rushing through our lives so quickly, spending a little bit of time meditating can really calm us and down and put things into perspective. It can really help relieve stress and allow you to simply take a breath.
