What Is The Best Candida Cleanse For Healing Candidiasis?

Probiotic 100 Billion

If you’re looking for a way to help heal your candida overgrowth once and for all, I’m a huge fan of this candida cleanse kit from Amy Myers.

Seriously, it’s unbelievable and works wonders

Let me explain why.

For starters, I’m a big ‘science’ guy and the science backing this kit is extremely promising (and if you read until the end, I breakdown that research in depth).

The kit contains three different candida-busting supplements–probiotics, caprylic acid, and candifense.

These supplements compliment each other, working in synergy to attack candida in three different ways–promoting a return to health and balance.

This is ideal, because restoring healthy flora (the good bacteria) needed to combat candida overgrowth often requires more than one single approach to be effective.

Before we dive into the 3 individual supplements, why they’re important and their supporting research, let’s first dive into what makes candida such a terrible problem.

What Makes Candida Such A Nasty Problem?

candida fungal (yeast)

As you already know, candida fungal (yeast) infections are nasty and persistent, and can be found growing in both moist and dry environments.

Candida commonly grows on everyday environmental surfaces, such as:

  • Beds
  • Linens
  • Sinks
  • Surfaces, such as plastic
  • Can even be found in the air

In the human body, candida can be found in your nose, mouth, throat, gut, urinary tract, and vaginal canal.

Of these sites, candida is most prevalent in the gut and genital/ urinary regions.

What many people don’t know is that candida can be part of your “normal flora”–that is the microbes that live on and inside you every day.

And while high quantities of candida can be a nasty problem, in small quantities, it is harmless.

However, candida is “opportunistic,” meaning it can quickly get out of balance and cause infections in certain situations.

The most common situations that lead to candida overgrowth are:

  • Pregnancy
  • Use of birth control
  • HIV
  • Diabetes
  • Immune suppression
  • Use of antibiotics,
  • Stress
  • Poor nutrition
  • Changes in the pH of an environment

And because of increased drug resistance against anti-fungal medications, candida infections are getting more difficult to treat with traditional medical therapies.

In my experience as a nurse, I know all too well about the serious dangers of candida infections.

Skin infections, thrush, vaginosis, digestive disorders, pneumonia, organ migration and invasion, blood infections, and death in serious cases–and in my expert opinion, candida should not be taken lightly!

Fortunately, it’s not all doom and gloom, and if you follow the simple steps below, you can be well on your way to healing your candida overgrowth.

Candida Kit Item #1: Probiotic 100 Billion CFUs

Probiotic 100 Billion

The first supplement in the Candida Breakthrough Kit is a research-backed, 14-strain, and 100 billion CFU probiotic.

In other words, it is a fantastic probiotic that is proven to help heal candidiasis.

To explain how important taking a probiotic like this one is for helping with candidiasis, let’s take a deep dive into the evidence.

In short, probiotics are another word for the “good” bacteria that lives in your body and keeps us healthy.

So What Roles Does Healthy Bacteria Play In Keeping Candida In Check?

The importance of healthy bacteria is made painfully clear when people take antibiotics.

As a nurse, I am not here to knock antibiotics, they definitely play a role in modern medicine–thank God for them!  However, there is a nasty side-effect that we see all the time as I explain here.

The use of broad-spectrum, powerful antibiotics can result in candida overgrowth. Candida overgrowth can occur when the antibiotics kill not only the infectious organism, but also healthy bacteria that lives within our bodies.

Working in healthcare for more than a decade, I have seen this happen all the time.  This side effect confirms that numerous bacteria found within our normal microbiome (microbes that live in and on our bodies) work to keep candida in check.

For example, one common species–Lactobacillus–has been found to produce numerous fungicides (fungal destroying substances) according to researchers

In other words, good microbes like Lactobacillus kill bad microbes like candida!

Lactobacillus Probiotic And Candida

Ten of the 14 strains of healthy bacteria found in the Candida Breakthrough Kit’s probiotic are members of the Lactobacillus species.

A meta-analysis evaluating the effectiveness of probiotics against oral candida reviewed the results of 12 separate studies from across the globe, consisting of more than 800 study participants.  Eight of the studies were randomized controlled trials, considered the “gold-standard” for validating the effectiveness of an intervention.

Indeed, the meta-analysis confirms that probiotics have a protective role against candida overgrowth through various actions. Actions of healthy bacteria against candida include release of peroxide, lactic acid, and destruction of fungal biofilms.

Bifidobacterium Strains And Candida

The meta-analysis recognizes not only Lactobacillus, but also Bifidobacterium species as having protective effects. Three of the 14 strains included in Dr. Myers probiotic supplements are Bifidobacterium species.

The final strain of health promoting bacteria is Streptococcus thermophilus.  This bacteria has been found to interfere with the creation of a biofilm formed by candida.  Biofilms are used by candida to form a sticky surface on which yeast cells can stick to and grow on.

Early probiotic research shows promise for various conditions

Research is showing two nasty conditions–conditions you are not likely to discuss with the stranger at your local coffee shop–oral thrush and vaginosis–appear to respond favorably to probiotics.

Research analysis of 10 randomized-controlled trials (gold standard for research) from the esteemed Cochrane group noted that research combining probiotics with oral antifungal medications appeared beneficial in decreasing the duration of vaginal fungal infections.  The effect was superior versus antifungal drug therapy alone.

The Cochrane group reports that more research is necessary to confirm the effects, but it is a phenomenal start.

Other analyses tend to find the same pattern–that probiotics appear to help with candida overgrowth.

The Verdict On Amy Myers 100 Billion CFU Probiotic

The research is still considered young by science’s standards, but is incredibly promising.

If you have candida overgrowth–one thing is certain: you will definitely want to supplement with a high-quality probiotic–and it doesn’t get any better than Amy Myers’ 100 billion CFU probiotic.

Candida Kit Item #2: Caprylic Acid (Also Called Octanoic Acid)

CAPRYLIC ACID

Another powerful candida-fighting supplement found in this candida kit is caprylic acid

Caprylic acid has been confirmed in multiple studies to have antifungal effects by attacking the biofilm of various harmful microbes, including candida.

Before I dive into more research, though, let’s take a step back

What exactly is caprylic acid?

Caprylic acid is a fascinating, natural compound found in milk and coconut oil

An interesting characteristic is that it absorbs readily from the gut into the bloodstream.

This is important, because once in the bloodstream, caprylic acid can travel to sites all over the body.

As I mentioned above, biofilms are sticky films (pond scum is a real world example that is easy to visualize) that microbes use to stick to surfaces and spread their growth.

These biofilms not only allow growth of harmful microbes, but they also act like shields.

Biofilms protect microbes against the effects of antibiotic medications and drug therapies; they also contribute to drug resistance, including resistance against antifungal drugs.

And as drug resistance rises, scientists are looking for ways to attack biofilms.

Caprylic acid shows great promise as a natural, safe compound effective at destroying candida (and other harmful microbes’) biofilms

The verdict on Amy Myers Caprylic Acid

In very simple terms, caprylic acid is great at helping to weaken candida.

They help to break down the “shields” of candida fungus–which helps your body to fight candida easier and more effectively.

Candida Kit Item #3: Candifense

Candifense

If you want to get past your candida overgrowth, you’ll want to be taking powerful enzymes like those found in Candifense

Let me explain why.

The enzymes found in ‘Candifense’ are a collection of vegetable-derived enzymes that are used to destroy the cell walls of the candida fungus microbes.

Unfortunately, these cell walls cannot be destroyed by our own digestive enzymes.

To show how important it is to break down the cell walls of candida, let’s look closer at one substance called Mannan-glucan complex.

Mannan-glucan complex is a fiber found in the candida biofilm that resists destruction by drug therapies.

Fortunately, digestive enzymes (like those found in ‘Candifense”), can target and destroy the mannan-glucan complex, which helps to heal candidiasis.

A nice review of research supporting this approach can be found here.

If you don’t feel like reading that long study, the research suggests that multiple enzymes work together in complementing ways to combat candida.

In other words, an enzyme complex is superior to any single enzyme by itself.

The Verdict On Amy Myers Candifense

The research showing how effective digestive enzymes are at combating candida is impressive

The most effective enzymes at attacking the cell walls and biofilm of candida microbes include amylase, beta-glucanase, cellulase, hemicellulase, and invertase.

Candifense contains all of these enzymes, which is exactly what you want.

3rd Party Testing and GMP Certification – What It Means & Why It’s Important

Many supplements sold on the market are of poor quality, contain contaminants, and in some cases, even lack the active ingredients.

I’m being serious–it’s a legitimate problem in the supplement industry.

It’s why I never buy anything that’s not 3rd-party tested.

GMP Certification and 3rd Party Testing

So I checked and the Amy Myers supplements are both 3rd party tested and GMP certified.

By being 3rd party tested, this means two things:

  1. The ingredients the label says are in the supplement, are actually in the supplement.
  2. There are no contaminants or impurities

Additionally, Amy Myers’ products are GMP certified–meaning the supplements are manufactured in a plant that meets FDA standards for purity and quality.

While FDA standards aren’t always the best, they are the best we have, and it’s important supplements you take are GMP certified.

What Do The Reviews Say About This Candida Cleanse?

I always look to reviews when considering a product–and you should too.

And well, these reviews are impressive.

Netting 4.7 stars out of 5 stars based on over 200 reviews, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one that thinks highly of this one.

Candida BreakThrough Kit Review

I spent some time reading through the reviews and found a common theme: clearer skin, reduced sugar cravings, reductions in thrush, better digestion, less bloating, less rashes, improved vaginal health, better energy, and an overall improved sense of health and wellbeing.

Product Review

Too good to be true?

I don’t think so.

As you already know, symptoms associated with candidiasis are horrible and can make you feel LOUSY.

And the 3 supplements contained in this kit–probiotics, caprylic acid, and digestive enzymes–are proven to help improve your microbiome, decrease your inflammation, and ultimately work to help heal your candidiasis.

How Much Does This Candida Cleanse Cost?

While you can buy each of the 3 supplements separately for $164.91, I highly recommend getting them as a bundle to save 15% and bring the price down to $140.22

This kit is fantastic and at this price point with the value you get, you won’t find a better value.

It also has some other nice features, like free shipping and 30 day returns.

So if you use it and it doesn’t work (which would be surprising), you can simply return it for your money back, no questions asked.

Wrap-up

Dr. Amy Myers Candida Breakthrough Kit is exactly that: a candida breakthrough combination therapy designed to combat candida with a multi-pronged attack.

What separates this candida cleanse from others I found is the scientific backing of the ingredients in these supplements.

They not only work against the candida itself, but also against the stubborn biofilm matrix that makes candida so difficult to treat.

The probiotics work to restore a healthy gut-microbiome.

Caprylic acid works in your gut and travels in your bloodstream to destroy the biofilm that otherwise protects candida and allows its unchecked growth.

And finally, the Candifense vegetable enzymes do what our own digestive enzymes cannot–that is digest and break apart the cell walls and fibers that make up candida cells and biofilms.

While it’s always smart to contact your primary care provider, this powerful, yet affordable, 3-pronged approach is exactly what you need if you want to finally be candida-free.
